In the sport of cutting, some horses stand apart not just for their own brilliance, but for the way their stories weave together. Twice In Santiago and All Spice are two such mares. Both daughters of Once In A Blu Boon, both piloted to success by Adan Banuelos, and both crowned NCHA Horse of the Year in consecutive seasons, they carved their names into history back-to-back.
In 2019, Twice In Santiago announced herself as the NCHA Open Futurity Reserve Champion. She followed with a 2020 campaign that earned NCHA Horse of the Year, stacking major finals and top placings, including the Open Derby Reserve Championship. One season later the spotlight shifted to All Spice. She won the 2020 NCHA Open Futurity and then marched through 2021 to Horse of the Year, a career that also put her in the Hall of Fame.
Now, their foals are just reaching show age. Their packages in the Absolute Dispersal Sale give a buyer the foundation and the runway to shape what comes next.
Twice In Santiago first stepped into the spotlight at the 2019 NCHA Futurity, where she was the Open Reserve Champion. The following year she proved her staying power with an incredibly consistent derby season, highlighted by the NCHA Open Derby Reserve Championship, the Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Futurity Reserve Championship, Cattlemens Open Derby Co-Reserve Championship and top finishes at West Texas, The Non-Pro, Bonanza, and El Rancho. Her performances throughout 2020 earned her the coveted title of NCHA Horse of the Year, recognition of both her grit and her ability to excel across every stage.
She sells with an embryo by Smooth Talkin Style. Additional foals and embryos offered separately in the Absolute Dispersal give buyers the chance to step into her line both now and in the future.
The very next year, All Spice seized the spotlight with a commanding win as the 2020 NCHA Open Futurity Champion, then carried that dominance through 2021 to be named NCHA Horse of the Year. Along the way she added 6 additional big Champion and Reserve Champion finishes and was a finalist at nearly every other major aged event, earning her a place in the NCHA Hall of Fame with $571,049 in lifetime earnings.
Her talent was recognized as exceptional by those who knew her best. Banuelos told Quarter Horse News, “She’s a big strong, smart mare; very smart about a cow and she can do it all,” later telling The Cowboy Channel her way of moving was “the smoothest thing ever.” Royce Stallcup, in the same Cowboy Channel interview, added: “She’s so cow smart and she’s so talented.”
She sells with an embryo by Smooth Talkin Style and a 2026 rebreed to Hashtags, with foals and embryos out of her also offered in the sale.
The Absolute Dispersal Sale of Teton Ridge Performance Horses gives breeders direct access to two mares that rewrote the record books. Twice In Santiago and All Spice sell with breeding packages designed for immediate and long-term impact. On September 29 at TR9 Ranch, they will be offered alongside more than 100 consignments selling without reserve. It is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, presented exclusively by Western Bloodstock.
