Bet Shes Smooth and Adelle: Results That Reproduce

Both were campaigned by Lindy Burch. Both are out of daughters of Freckles Playboy. Both are now producing foals that turn show results into proof. Bet Shes Smooth and Adelle are excelling in the broodmare band, and now sell in the Absolute Dispersal Sale of Teton Ridge Performance Horses on September 29th. Each mare offers her own kind of runway for the future, which one fits your program?

Bet Shes Smooth

Bet Shes Smooth is the kind of mare that held form under pressure. An NCHA Open Futurity Reserve Champion that kept turning up in finals, she added an AQHA World Champion Senior Cutting Horse title to a record of $181,137. After that win, Burch told Quarter Horse News, “I was really happy with the run overall, and I thought my mare was extraordinary,” adding, “I’ve never had a bad day training her.” Those are the comments that stick because they show how straightforward this mare was to prepare and to show.

That same feel is showing up in her foals. Reyzin Bets, by Reyzin The Cash, looks like the template. He has earned $73,323 with finals at the NCHA Super Stakes Open Classic and other major opens, and he started drawing attention before he ever went to work. Speaking to Quarter Horse News about him as a yearling, Burch said, “I think he is unique. He looks just like his mom.”

Bettish, by Hottish, followed with $50,279 and finals at the NCHA Intermediate Open Derby and the Cascades Open Derby. A younger set that includes Stevies Best Bet and Bet Hes Hot is already picking up checks, the kind of early production that suggests the line will continue to mature.

Her own page reads with substance. She is by Smooth As A Cat, an NCHA Horse of the Year whose foals have earned more than $39 million. Out of Bet Yer Blue Boons, who earned $350,615 herself, and produced more than $1.2 million, including Bet Hesa Cat, Stylish Bet, and Bet On Houston, the dam of Bet On A Cat. The nick has a record behind it. Smooth As A Cat on daughters of Freckles Playboy has produced over $840,000 in earnings.

Bet Shes Smooth sells with a 2026 rebreed to Badboonarising and an embryo by Third Edge that transfers with the mare, giving the next owner both a proven mare and immediate opportunity. In a 2019 Quarter Horse News piece, Burch summed up why she belongs in a serious broodmare band: “I have all the confidence in [Bet Shes Smooth] becoming a great broodmare.”

Adelle

Adelle built her résumé on depth and consistency. She earned $78,468 with a third in the NCHA Open Super Stakes, a San Antonio Open Derby championship, and finals or semi-finals at major aged events across the sport. That kind of record shows a mare that could stay right through a season.

Her produce is the headline now. Red Sparrow, the Reyzin The Cash mare, is the flag-bearer at $152,973. A fifth in the NCHA Open Classic/Challenge and finals at the Brazos Bash Open Classic and the Breeders Invitational Open Classic show a horse that keeps delivering in the biggest rooms.

Depth follows. Swish, by Hottish, has stacked $97,836 with repeat checks at the Breeders Invitational and top placings at the NCHA Super Stakes and Idaho CHA Open Derby. One Of These Days, by Once In A Blu Boon, adds $57,669 with a split third in the Cascades Open Derby and a run of finals that points to durability. The first foal, Skeetin Adelle by Kit Kat Sugar, signaled all of this early as a Futurity semi-finalist who later finished Top 10 in the NCHA Non-Pro Finals. Younger horses like TR Sweetest Devotion and Douglazs are already appearing on result sheets, which is why her produce total sits at $367,155 and rising.

Adelle’s pedigree gives a buyer confidence in what they are seeing. She is by Metallic Cat (progeny earnings of over $78 Million), out of Play Peek A Boon, who earned more than $200,000 herself, and has produced more than $760,000. The cross has history. Metallic Cat on daughters of Freckles Playboy has produced more than $2 million, a marker that the genetics here are sound and repeatable.

Adelle sells with a 2026 rebreed to Badboonarising and an embryo by Countin Hot Checks that transfers with the mare. For a buyer looking to step into a producing family with current momentum, it is a clean way to keep the line moving.

Shared Provenance, Similar Paths

The parallels are clear and the distinctions are productive. Bet Shes Smooth, by Smooth As A Cat out of Bet Yer Blue Boons, and Adelle, by Metallic Cat out of Play Peek A Boon, both piloted by Lindy Burch and both now read as true producers. They sell separately with 2026 rebreeds to Badboonarising and 2026 embryos in place, Third Edge for Bet Shes Smooth and Countin Hot Checks for Adelle. Two mares with proof on the page and momentum built in.
