Session II of Western Bloodstock’s 2025 NCHA Futurity Preferred Breeders Sale surpassed all previous Preferred Breeders Sale sessions on Thursday, December 4th, with an average of $49,336, and a gross of over $7.3 million on 149 horses sold, including 14 head for $100,000 or more.
Four horses brought winning bids of $200,000 or more, including high-seller Mable Greyble at $255,000, consigned by her breeder Holmes Performance Horses/Linda Holmes and purchased by Curtis Weeks, Cotulla, TX.
Mable Greyble, a sorrel yearling by Dual Reyish, is a half-sister to Unreyl, by Badboonarising, who as a yearling topped last year’s Session II Preferred Breeders Sale at $230,000. Both horses are out of Betty Greyble LTE $51,749, by Stylish Rey, dam of 8 earners of $592,456, including major NCHA Open limited event finalists Roasting LTE $234,971, by Hottish, and Steel Betty LTE $206,845, by Metallic Cat.
Betty Greyble is out of High Brows Nurse LTE $138,460, dam of earners of $734,535, and half-sister to Dual Rey, a leading $57 million+ sire.
Vonness, a double registered AQHA/APHA sorrel filly consigned by Fults Ranch, sold for $225,000 to Kathleen Moore, Madill, OK. Sired by Stevie Rey Von, Vonness is a full sister to Vince Von LTE $257,380, NRCHA Open Futurity Reserve Champion, and also three-quarter-sister to Kattalyst LTE $199,460, NCHA Super Stakes Open Classic Reserve Champion and NCHA Non-Pro Co-Reserve Champion.
Edgy, a January 2024 black colt consigned by Jim Haworth, brought $210,000, Thursday’s third-highest price, from Wesley Galyean, Claremore, OK. Haworth had also consigned Wednesday’s high-selling yearling, Moves Like Tagger.
Sired by NCHA Horse of the Year Third Edge, Edgy is a half-brother to NCHA World Champion and $5 million+ sire Hashtags LTE $485,293, as well as NCHA Futurity Open Reserve Champion Taggin LTE $346,815, among earners of over $1.5 million out of Dual Rey Tag LTE $56,706, by Dual Rey.
Maybie Baby, consigned by Barker Ranch.Cutting Horses LLC, was one of four horses who commanded $200,000 or more on Thursday. The bay yearling filly was purchased for $200,000 by Theorem Ranch, Houston, TX, buyer of Wednesday’s high-selling yearling, Moves Like Tagger, at $165,000.
Sired by NCHA World Champion Countin Hot Checks, Maybie Baby is out of Special Nu Baby LTE $482,061, by Dual Rey, and a sister to earners of over $1.4 million.
The 2025 NCHA Futurity Sales continue on Friday, December 5th with Session III of the Preferred Breeders Sale and will conclude on Saturday, December 6th with Session IV.
